Meet the Author

Unicurl is Jenna’s debut children’s book. It has always been a dream to author a book. Jenna’s inspiration for Unicurl came from her daughter, Capri’s curly hair. She wanted to write a book in which children could see themselves and love their curls. Jenna lives in New Jersey with her husband and two children. She is a certified Special Education Teacher and Reading Specialist. She loves spending time with her big family, going to the beach and being active.

Meet the Illustrator

Colleen and Jenna are life-long friends who have similarly dedicated their lives to education. As a bilingual speech-language pathologist, Colleen works with culturally/ linguistically/neurologically diverse populations. She is a contributing member to the Multicultural Committee for New Jersey’s Speech and Hearing Association. Colleen believes inclusivity and representation are paramount to building a world where every child can see themselves as valuable and whole.
